It was so much fun to talk to John Busbee who hosts a podcast out of Iowa called “The Culture Buzz.”
Connecting with people from the middle of the country has been a mission of mine for awhile and I’ve become more passionate about since writing my book. 26 out of our fifty states have banned gender affirming care for minors and most of those states are in the middle of the country. An important part of my work with this book is to help parents of trans kids in those states feel supported and empowered to care for their kids without fear.
John’s podcast also airs as a radio show on KFMG 98.9 in central Iowa so this interview allows me to talk to lots of people for whom the information in my book might feel either very new or very encouraging. It was an honor to be asked to be on the show and a blast to talk to John. We even talked about having me back on the show again to discuss ALS caregiving.
